Find your voice in English through literature

Read powerful stories and poems, reflect on their meaning and practice speaking English in small, engaging groups.

How it works

1.

Read a short story, poem or essay chosen to spark thought and conversation.

2.

Reflect and share your ideas in a live, two-hour Zoom session.

3.

Speak. Practice vocabulary, fluency and confidence in real conversation.

Facilitated by Matt, an experienced ESL teacher and editor with over a decade of helping learners read deeply, think critically and speak freely.

About the program

This isn’t a typical language class. You’ll explore real, meaningful texts—from Dostoyevsky to Ursula Le Guin—and discuss language, ideas and stories worth engaging. Over four weeks, we’ll grow your vocabulary, fluency, and critical thinking, together.

If you’re an intermediate to advanced English learner (B2–C2) who wants to improve through reading and discussion—this is for you.

In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.
